El Arlequí, the International Artistic Festival in Mollet del Vallès

The Arlequí, the International Artistic Festival of Mollet del Vallès that is committed to street performing arts, arrives once again!

The streets and squares of Mollet del Vallès will become open-air stages for a wide variety of high-quality shows aimed at all audiences. This cultural event, which has established itself as an unmissable event for lovers of the performing arts, will once again highlight street performing arts, offering a diverse and attractive program.

The Arlequí International Artistic Festival was born in 2016. Since then, editions have been held in which a lot of international companies from countries around the world have participated, such as Colombia, Brazil, France, Italy, Australia, Cape Verde, Japan or Portugal.

The name of the festival comes from one of the most emblematic figures of Mollet del Vallès. This classic character of the Italian Commedia dell'Arte, in addition to being a figure strongly associated with the performing arts and popular theater, was one of the sources of inspiration for the Mollet artist Joan Abelló. Throughout his career, Abelló represented this character recurrently using various techniques such as painting, charcoal and sculpture, among others.
