Celler Can Roda Santa Maria de Martorelles
Bodega Can Roda is a family winery of organic wines from the DO Alella located in a privileged area surrounded by vineyards and forests, next to the city of Barcelona. They make 17 different wines from homegrown grapes and we have our own winery and farmhouse with a history dating back to 1867.
The vineyards
The Vallés vineyards work: Martorelles, Sta. María de Martorelles, Montornés and Sant Fost, a total of 20 hectares; and are dedicated to the recovery of old vineyards in the territory. The vineyards grow on the Sauló land, a type of soil of granite origin that facilitates the ripening of the grapes and adds finesse to the wines. Its variety par excellence is the Pansa Blanca, which gives unique nuances.
The territory
It is located within the Cordillera de Marina Natural Park. Being on the continental side, the temperature and humidity conditions in the area are more extreme, unlike the rest of the DO Alella wineries that are on the sea side, and this ends up giving their wines a different touch.
The wines
They create more than 17 different wines of organic production and certification: white, rosé, red, sweet and sparkling. They work with the white varieties: Raisin Blanca, Moscatel, Chardonnay, and the red varieties: Red Garnacha, Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot. In total they bottle about 40,000 bottles a year.
His wines tell stories of our territory and his family, as they have been inspired by unique territories and people. Its wines have been recognized by the Peñín Guide, the Gilbert Gaillard Magazine, the Catalonia Wine Guide, etc.
