International Museum Day in Olesa de Montserrat

Olesa de Montserrat celebrates this year's International Museum Day with a day full of activities at the Cal Puigjaner Cultural Centre!

The event will transform this heritage site into a meeting point open to all citizens, with activities spread throughout the day to highlight the value of museums as spaces of memory, culture and social cohesion.

The day will begin with a guided tour of the Cal Puigjaner Cultural Centre, an opportunity to discover the history and heritage preserved in this emblematic Olesa building. The tours, organized by prior reservation through Vivetix and L'Arrel Acció Cultural, will allow participants to delve deeper into the municipality's cultural and historical legacy and bring local heritage closer to all audiences.

One of the highlights of the morning will be the awards ceremony, recognizing those who have actively collaborated with Olesa's heritage and contributed to preserving and disseminating the town's cultural memory. The initiative highlights the work of volunteers, organizations, and collaborators who strive to keep local heritage alive.

The program continues with a vermouth concert featuring Mireia Feliu & The Lindy Hoppers Band, who will bring rhythm and a festive atmosphere to the day with a musical performance designed for enjoyment in a friendly, family setting. Throughout the day, there will also be stalls offering tapas and wines from Olesa, further strengthening the connection between culture, gastronomy, and the region.

In the afternoon, families and young children can enjoy a children's entertainment show, "A quant va la mel?" (How far is the honey?), presented by La Tresca i La Verdesca, which will conclude with a traditional hot chocolate treat. With this diverse and engaging program, Olesa de Montserrat joins the international celebration of museums, championing these spaces as vibrant, accessible centers open to the entire community.

A cultural initiative to bring heritage closer to everyone, organized by the Department of Heritage and Tourism of the Olesa de Montserrat City Council, and with the support of local entities, the Parc Rural del Montserrat and the Barcelona Provincial Council.
