Our news
Organic ALTANA ROSADO
Wine produced entirely with this variety, from our Cal Costas estate, 500m from the winery.
Vines about 10 years old, and in rather poor soil, which favors stress in the vine and makes the grapes have a very interesting concentration of color-sugars-polyphenols. Harvested by machine at dawn and taken to the winery immediately. Skidded and vatted in tank. Every year is different, but more or less, we leave it with the skins between 6 and 10 hours, and we do a direct bleeding of the tank, static racking with cold and fermentation at a controlled temperature, always maintaining the varietal aromas.
Short time in tank and bottling as quickly as possible, to avoid oxidation.
- Varieties: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Grenache
- Alcohol: +/- 13.00%
- Ageing: Young
Tasting note:
- In appearance: not very intense color, looking for a color that is on the pale side, but without being bright and shiny with strawberry red tones.
- On the nose: A touch of somewhat acidic red fruit, not quite ripe strawberry and a touch of pomegranate emerge. After 5 minutes in the glass it evolves towards a sweeter and silkier aroma.
- In the mouth: it is fresh, with an astringent touch that makes it very interesting. It has a friendly and sliding mouthfeel. The aromas remain in the mouth for quite a while.
- Pairing: it could be an aperitif wine, accompanied with Manchego cheese, cockles or different types of olives. It would also go well with fresh cheese pasta, white meat with juice or some grilled sardines or salmon.
High-altitude ecological XAREL.LO
- Variety: 100% xarel.lo
- Alcohol: +/- 12.50%
- Upbringing: young
Tasting note:
- In appearance: white wine with grayish and greenish tones, with a very light golden touch, which reminds us that it is a young wine.
- On the nose: xarel.lo with fantastic aromatic complexity, its fresh aroma indicates that it is grown at altitude. Aniseed notes, white flower, and white fruit at the point of ripeness. A real kindness on the nose.
- In the mouth: explosion of aromas in the mouth, an acidity very well fitted into the range of aromas, good structure and level of fats . Very persistent once it has been tried.
Activities for schools
The purpose of education is to make students capable of applying school knowledge in real life, that is why we propose this activity where students will be able to:
- Live the experience of how the vineyard is worked
- Know and interpret the landscape that surrounds them
- Learn how wine is made and marketed
All activities are adapted to the students' school level. In addition, we will also do parallel activities on this visit so that they strengthen their learning and learn in a playful way.
