In the heart of the Catalan pre-coastal depression, between the Pre-coastal mountain range and the small plains of the Mediterranean coast, the Penedès vines ripen. Three distinct areas make up the DO: the Upper Penedès (near the Pre-coastal mountain range), the Maritime Penedès (next to the sea and the Coastal Mountain Range), and the Central Penedès (between the two).

An innovative appellation, rooted in the territory and a pioneer in organic wines

Thanks to the diversity of its territories, the Penedès DO boasts a wide variety of microclimates. The climate in the sub-areas of the Pre-coastal Depression is typically Mediterranean, meaning mild and warm, while in the Penedès Maritime region, due to the influence and proximity of the sea, it is more temperate.

It is from this diversity that the uniqueness of the wines of the Penedès DO is born. Whether white, red, or rosé, their myriad flavors, aromas, bodies, and structures are the result of the richness and variety of soils in a land tinged with the green of the mountains or the blue of the sea.

The Penedès DO, widely recognized for its quality white wines, combines a selection of wines made from traditional varieties (Xarel·lo, Macabeo, and Parellada) with others that have been successfully introduced and acclimatized over the years (Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, etc.). And with Xarel·lo wines as the DO's flagship, the wines of the Penedès are full of aroma, flavor, and quality.

It also offers a wide and exquisite range of quality red wines, the result of experimentation, constant innovation, and the revival of its own varieties. A pleasure for the senses.
