La pasión de Esparraquera is a show with great dramatic and technical complexity, which manages to convey to the current viewer the essence of characters with two thousand years of history.
The grandeur of the theater (1,800 seats), the large number of actors on stage, the vertiginous changes of scenery, the perfect union of the text, and the original music performed live by an orchestra and a choir... make Esparreguera's Passion in a theatrical production of unique characteristics.
Music
Live music is one of the most important differential facts of the Passion, helping the viewer to enter the show more easily in perfect coordination with words and actions.
An orchestra of thirty musicians, a choir of fifty voices and an organ of seven hundred pipes are the instruments that give life to the soundtrack of La Pasión de Esparraguera.
Theater
The theatre, with a capacity of 1,800 spectators, is considered one of the largest in Catalonia. Inaugurated in 1969, it was specially designed to represent The Passion.
The 375 m2 stage is equipped with a cyclorama, elevators, motorized side platforms and a 25-meter-high curtain. The interior area for changing rooms and characterization has a capacity for 600 actors.
