Mataró hosts a new edition of the Gastronomic Days of the Mataró Dish "Peas with cuttlefish and potatoes".
In 1998, the first edition of the Mataró Plate was held, the "Sepia with peas and potatoes" or the "Peas with cuttlefish and potatoes". It was at the end of 1997 that the Department of Economic Promotion of the Mataró City Council asked the Hospitality and Tourism Guild of Mataró and Maresme to define a traditional dish, typical of Mataró that would position itself in the city and that would be the standard bearer of Mataró cuisine..
Combining the cuttlefish caught on the Maresme coast and the peas and potatoes grown in the coastal mountain range, Mataró has created its own dish. And not only that, but he dedicates some gastronomic days to it. If you want to try the Mataró dish you just have to go to one of the participating restaurants in the city.
