Vapors, factories and cooperatives of the industrial Mataró
This guided tour will allow us to know the rich historical heritage of Mataró: steamers, factories and cooperatives, and also the protagonists that made possible the great economic, social and urban transformation of the city during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Meeting point: before the Nau Gaudí.
Mataró conserves a rich industrial heritage: steamers, factories, cooperatives... With this route you can discover the beginnings of industrialization and the role played by the workers movement and cooperativism in the city.
With the visit to some of the emblematic factories of the city, such as the Cooperativa Obrera Mataronense, known as the Nau Gaudí, or Can Marfà-Museo del Género de Punto, you will also know the protagonists that made possible the great economic, social and urban transformation of the city during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
