Sostibaix, the sustainable fortnight of Baix Llobregat

The Baix Llobregat Tourism Consortium presents the second edition of Sostibaix, the fifteenth sustainable event in Baix Llobregat, an event that promotes local, responsible, and environmentally friendly tourism.

Sostibaix, which will take place from October 13 to November 2, offers a wide-ranging program of activities aimed at raising awareness among citizens about the importance of preserving our environment and highlighting the region's natural and cultural heritage.

For three weeks, local businesses and organizations will offer a wide variety of activities for all audiences. Highlights include a turtle rescue workshop, "Matins a pagès" (Pattern Matins) days to learn about organic farming, sunrise walks through the Llobregat Delta, kayaking and paddleboarding trips along the delta's coast, and guided tours of the El Prat wastewater treatment plant to learn about the treatment process.

In addition to environmental activities, the fifteenth Sostibaix sustainable event also includes relevant cultural offerings, such as a visit to the "Weaving Experiences and Memories" exhibition in Colonia Sedó, or guided tours of the Museo de las Aguas and its garden, focusing on sustainability and biodiversity. You can also discover the heritage of Baix Llobregat using public transport, following the various offerings of the Tram Route.

For lovers of wine tourism and local cuisine, the Sostibaix program includes original activities such as the "From Forest to Vineyard" tour in Corbera de Llobregat, which combines nature and wine, organic wine tastings at the Celler de Can Mata (Sant Just Desvern), or a Rosanes wine tasting with a visit to its Wine Museum. Also noteworthy are the gastronomic offerings of Gavà en Taula and the restaurants of the "Els Sabors de l'Horta" collective, which focus on responsible cuisine prepared with local, seasonal produce from the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park.

Sostibaix also emphasizes the social dimension of tourism, with days dedicated to learning about projects from entities in Baix Llobregat, such as the “Es im-perfect” project by the Espigoladors association, or the “MOS es MÉS” experience by the Sagnier restaurant of the Rubricatus Foundation, which invites you to taste a sustainable menu and learn about the city.

Plogging race along the river: sport and sustainability

In this second edition, the Consorci de Turisme and SPLAU are organizing a plogging race along the Llobregat River on Saturday, October 18, in collaboration with Corresolidaris, an association created by athletics enthusiasts that promotes sport as a tool for integration.

All participants will receive a free thermal shirt and special discounts.

Boosting Blue Tourism: Sustainability on the Llobregat Delta Coast

As part of Sostibaix, the Baix Llobregat Tourism Consortium is launching the "Discover the Coast of the Llobregat Delta" campaign, with the aim of promoting sustainable blue tourism in the delta's coastal area.

The initiative, aimed primarily at local residents, aims to highlight the coast's natural, scenic, and cultural richness by promoting year-round visits in a respectful and enriching way.

A future strategy for sustainable tourism

The Sustainable Decimoquinta is part of the sustainability strategy of the Baix Llobregat Tourism Consortium, an organization recognized by the Barcelona Regions Commitment to Sustainable Tourism Program and accredited with the Biosphere Sustainable Commitment certification. Companies, organizations, and municipalities committed to responsible tourism development actively participate in this project.
