Poble Espanyol Barcelona Barcelona
The Poble Espanyol in Barcelona is an emblematic open-air venue where history meets culture and leisure. Its content in architecture, art and crafts and a long list of activities throughout the year make it a unique space for family activities, concerts, gastronomic events and exhibitions. In short, the Town is culture and leisure for everyone.
A historic and unique venue in Barcelona
Built in 1929 within the framework of the Barcelona International Exposition and located in Montjuïc, the green and cultural lung of the city, the Village is an attraction to discover at any age, because there is no place like it. With more than 40,000 m2 outdoors, the Poble is home to 117 buildings that, together, form a unique synthesis of traditional architecture.
Walking through its streets, alleys and squares, you will also discover an important representation of artisan workshops in which professionals from different generations, specialists in glass, leather, clay, wood and engraving, among others, work. They offer the possibility of buying unique, unrepeatable and personalized pieces, and taking workshops and courses to live the artisanal experience in first person.
The entrance to the venue also includes access to two prominent centers of interest in terms of contemporary art in Barcelona: the Fran Daurel Museum, a valuable collection that includes works by universal figures such as Picasso, Dalí or Miró; and Cristal Art Gallery, a new contemporary art space in the city.
In Poble there is also a wide variety of bars, restaurants, terraces and shops, audiovisual installations, giant slides, picnic areas and a viewpoint with spectacular views over Barcelona. And remember: it is always interesting to keep an eye on your agenda because many activities are scheduled throughout the year between exhibitions, family activities, concerts and other events!
