Barcelonès

The Barcelonés is a vibrant and cosmopolitan region, located on the Mediterranean coast and with Barcelona as its capital, one of the most dynamic and well-known cities in the world. Although it is the smallest region in Catalonia in terms of area, it is the most populated and acts as an economic, cultural and tourist engine for the country.

Barcelona, its epicentre, is famous for its modernist architecture, largely thanks to the works of architect Antoni Gaudí, such as the Sagrada Família, Parc Güell and Casa Batlló. The city is also notable for its historical legacy, with the Gothic Quarter, full of narrow streets, cathedrals and medieval buildings that transport visitors back in time. In addition, the Museu Picasso and the Fundació Joan Miró are must-see stops for art lovers.

Passeig de Gràcia is one of the most emblematic streets in Barcelona, with modernist buildings, luxury shops and renowned restaurants. Just a few steps away, we find Plaza Catalunya, the nerve centre of the city, which connects to the famous Ramblas, a lively street that leads to Port Vell and the beaches of Barceloneta.

The Barcelonès region also includes other important municipalities such as Hospitalet de Llobregat, the second largest city in Catalonia, with a great cultural and commercial offer, and Badalona, known for its beach, the Oil Bridge and the Badalona Museum, where you can see remains of the ancient Roman city of Baetulo. Santa Coloma de Gramanet and Sant Adrià de Besòs complete the region with their cultural offer and green areas.

The Barcelonés is also a reference point for food lovers, with a wide variety of restaurants ranging from Michelin-starred haute cuisine to traditional taverns where you can sample Catalan cuisine and Mediterranean tapas. In addition, the city of Barcelona is home to several iconic markets such as the Boqueria Market, a temple for lovers of fresh, local produce.

Culture is another of the region's mainstays, with events ranging from music festivals such as Primavera Sound and Sónar to exhibitions, theatre and dance in iconic venues such as the Gran Teatro del Liceo and the Teatro Nacional de Cataluña.

Stay here, explore the historic sites, enjoy contemporary culture and be captivated by the energy of Barcelonès, a region that combines history, modernity and a dynamism that cannot be found anywhere else.
