The Pastorets of Mataró
The Pastorets of Mataró are back for another year! A large-format musical show with all the ingredients: live orchestra and singing, dancing, spectacular changes of scenery, good and bad characters, dramatic and comic characters, special effects of fire, light and sound, projections...
Released in 1916 and based on “The Star of Nazareth” by Ramon Pàmies, Los Pastorets de Mataró brings to the stage Naïm's doubts, the fight between Good and Evil, the adventures of Jonás and Matatías or the biblical story of the birth of Jesus.
An orchestra performs live the music of the masters Enric Torra, Felip Vilaró and Miquel Ferrer.
The Pastorets of Mataró have been Cultural Heritage of the City of Mataró since 1981 and in April 2016 they were awarded the Cross of Sant Jordi by the Generalitat of Catalonia.
