Discovering the birds that pass through Gallecs in Mollet del Vallès
Walk through the Espai Rural de Gallecs to discover the world of birds and get started in the exciting hobby of ornithology.
With the arrival of autumn, birdwatching regains popularity among nature lovers after the summer heat. The arrival of wetland birds in late autumn and the concentrations of birds in the fields when the intense cold affects northern Europe can offer us unique moments in nature.
This October we celebrated International Climate Change Day, and for this reason, we suggest a birdwatching outing. The end of October coincides with the last days of migratory birds passing through our territory and the arrival of some wintering birds and birds of prey that have already settled in our country.
During the outing, we'll learn about initiatives to recover certain birds and their habitats, discover some invasive species, and observe a good number of the most common birds that accompany us year-round. We'll also learn to identify them by their songs and delve into the fundamentals of birdwatching.
If this experience awakens your desire to observe birds, an exciting winter awaits us in Gallecs.
What is the route like?
We'll be doing a 3-4 km walk, mostly flat with a gentle uphill section. It's suitable for anyone who is comfortable walking on uneven terrain.
We will advance little by little and make stops at points of special ornithological interest to observe the birds.
Recommended equipment: those who have them can bring binoculars from home.
Registration: If you wish to participate, you can contact Aprende, environmental services, at the email address [email protected] or by phone at 938 42 93 61, indicating your personal details.
The activity is free and places are limited.
Don't miss it!
