Wheat Ear Festival in Mollet del Vallès
Mollet del Vallès is preparing to celebrate a new edition of the Fiesta de la Espiga (Festival of the Wheat Ear), a day designed to celebrate the agricultural tradition of the municipality and highlight the relationship between the territory, cereals, the peasantry and collective memory.
The Farinera Park will be transformed into a meeting place with activities for all ages. The festival aims to commemorate Mollet's agricultural past, closely linked to cereal cultivation and the Gallecs area, while also looking to the future with initiatives related to sustainability, mindful eating, and local culture.
During the day there will be family workshops, creative activities with ears of grain, personalized stories about harvests, making spelt cookies and proposals designed for children and adults to discover the world of cereal in a fun and participatory way.
The program will also include a walk through Gallecs, among old ears of wheat and new sustainable models, as well as different short talks within the L'Espiga en Píldoras space, with reflections on cereals, food, energy, wholemeal bread and the agricultural history of Mollet and Gallecs.
One of the highlights will be the discovery of the Moretó Flour Mill, one of the city's most important heritage sites and a testament to its industrial history. There will also be artisan exhibition stands, a presentation of the new Mollet, an exceptional sweet from the municipality, and a tasting of local craft beer.
A festival to learn, stroll, taste and share; an opportunity to reconnect with the roots of Mollet and celebrate everything that helps us grow as a people.
