Visit to the Clock Tower and the old town of Olesa de Montserrat

Guided tours of the Clock Tower and the Old Town in Olesa de Montserrat return on the second Sunday of each month, organized by the Department of Heritage and Tourism and Arrel Acció Cultural.

The Clock Tower (14th-16th centuries), owned by the Olesa de Montserrat Town Council, is one of the town's most significant landmarks. It was originally built as a defensive tower linked to Olesa Castle (10th-14th centuries), and it was at the beginning of the 16th century that it was given its current height (25.5 meters plus 5 meters for the bell tower).

Inside we will find information about the different uses and heritage elements it contains: the prison on the ground floor, the school on the first floor, the audiovisual “to the sound of bells” on the intermediate platform, the machinery of the municipal clock on the upper level and the bell tower with the clock bells at the top of the Tower, from where we will access the viewpoint and be able to observe a 360° panoramic view of the surroundings, presided over by the Montserrat mountain.

Registration will open on the Monday before the visit through Arrel's Vivetix account and it is recommended to book a place in advance, as capacity is limited.
