Centre Astronòmic del Pedraforca
This event is over.

Science Mondays at the Pedraforca Astronomical Centre ( Saldes ) are a perfect cultural and educational proposal for August nights, combining science, astronomy and music under the starry sky.

The courtyard of the Pedraforca Astronomical Center will be transformed into a meeting place for curious individuals, astronomy enthusiasts, and the general public interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the world around us. The sessions will combine accessible explanations, critical reflection, and relatable examples, requiring no prior scientific knowledge.

The program will address space exploration from a social, economic, and political perspective. It will cover the new race to the Moon, the role of large private companies, and the relationship between space projects, military interests, and so-called astrocapitalism.

The latest advances in astronomy will also be reviewed, from the discovery of exoplanets to the study of dark matter and the search for life beyond Earth. It's an opportunity to learn how new technologies are transforming our understanding of the Universe.

The physics of complexity will complement its talks with a look at collective behaviors. The movements of a flock of birds, traffic jams, or certain magnetic phenomena will serve to explain how the interaction of many parts can generate surprising results.

The cycle will close with a concert by Astrolabi, an instrumental jazz fusion proposal inspired by the cosmos, with improvisation, rock and psychedelic textures.

A program to learn, ask questions and enjoy science and music under the Saldes sky.

If you love science, music, and stargazing... these Mondays are for you!
