The Sant Miquel Fair is back in Santpedor for another year!
Its origin dates back to the end of the 12th century, when King Alfonso granted the charter of settlement with privileges to the town of Santpedor.
During the Middle Ages, the fair became established as one of the most important in inland Catalonia and, over the years, it adapted to the circumstances of each historical period: craft fair, livestock fair, etc.
The Sant Miquel fair revolves around the old quarter of Santpedor, which retains its medieval layout of narrow, welcoming streets. Since 1991, it has focused on natural and organic products year after year.
Today, the Sant Miquel Fair has established itself as one of the main fairs in inland Catalonia. Various cultural events enliven the fair: traditional performances, street musicians, exhibitions, talks, and more.
Today the fair focuses on the local gastronomy of the region, and specifically that of Santpedor, offering tastings of local products and reviving the fair's traditional dish: stewed goat with eggplant.
