Operation Castaween in Món Sant Benet
Organized by: Món Sant Benet
This autumn, "Operation Castaween" returns to Món Sant Benet to celebrate the Castañada (chestnut festival) with the family in an original and mysterious way, while still preserving the essence of this deeply rooted tradition. The activity will take place on weekends from October 10th to November 14th and is especially designed for families with children between 3 and 10 years old.
The experience begins with the story of the Old Chestnut Seller of the Enchanted Sage. Some time ago, at Món Sant Benet, we made a very special discovery: an old, magical, and perfectly hidden book. But it wasn't just any book... It was the book of the Old Chestnut Seller of the Enchanted Sage!
The Old Chestnut Seller lived in the monastery woods and had a very peculiar appearance: a pointed face, small, dark eyes, and a very long chin. Although some were a little afraid of her, she actually dedicated herself to helping people. She prepared herbal remedies to cure the sick, roasted chestnuts that protected against evil spirits, and made panellets so delicious they almost seemed magical.
All these secrets were recorded in her magic book... but there's a problem: the recipes are cursed! Now, the formulas appear full of very strange ingredients—troll claws, giant dandruff, bat blood—that will have to be deciphered.
That's why "Operation Castaween" is looking for brave families willing to solve the recipes through fun clue-based games. By overcoming different challenges, the participants will obtain the necessary ingredients to finally prepare some "terrifyingly" sweet panellets.
Lasting approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, the activity combines play, tradition and food in a fun, participatory way designed to be shared as a family.
Prices are €10.50 for adults and children aged 5 to 12, €9.50 for children aged 3 and 4, and admission is free for children under 3.
Special promotion for Castaween participants
This autumn, families participating in Operation Castaween will be able to complete their visit to Món Sant Benet with a special experience at the monastery, thanks to an exclusive promotion with a 50% discount on the family visit.
With this offer, you can discover the Monastery of Sant Benet in an immersive, surprising and age-appropriate way through the Medieval Experience with audio guide, a sensory tour through the most emblematic spaces of the monastery that allows you to delve into its more than a thousand years of history.
The visit also includes the family activity "In Search of the Lost Crystal", a participatory adventure in which young and old will have to solve riddles and follow hidden clues to find the legendary Valentine's Crystal.
Special rates for Castaween participants
- General admission: from €15 to €7.50.
- Children's admission (ages 5-12): from €9 to €4.50.
- Admission for children under 4 years old: free.
An ideal proposal to extend the experience and enjoy a full day with the family, combining mystery, fun, tradition and heritage.
We're waiting for you!
