Strawberry Market and Strawberry Day in Canet de Mar
Canet de Mar is once again celebrating Strawberry Day, with a market and lots of activities!
Maresme strawberries are characterized by an intense red color, a very sweet taste with a hint of acidity, a fleshy texture and a pleasant aroma. This fruit tends to develop in sandy soils with a slope and good drainage capacity.
The strawberry is now harvested practically all year round, but its maximum production is in the month of May.
Fruit very abundant in vitamin C, with an important antioxidant action, intervenes in the formation of collagen, bones and teeth and promotes the absorption of iron from food. Folic acid contributes to the production of red and white blood cells and the formation of antibodies.
