Reception of the Flame of Canigou and Saint John Eve celebration in Solsona

Solsona remains true to tradition to celebrate the arrival of the summer solstice, the eve of Saint John's Day.

Solsona remains true to tradition to celebrate the arrival of the summer solstice and is preparing to experience a new San Juan festival full of popular culture, fire, music and festive atmosphere.

The day will begin in the Town Hall square, where from 7 pm onwards there will be an afternoon gathering with mojitos and music from the seventies, eighties, and nineties. This is a first opportunity to meet up, enjoy the start of the festivities, and get warmed up before the traditional events.

The celebration will continue with the arrival of the Flame of Canigó, a symbol of brotherhood, cultural continuity, and unity among Catalan-speaking territories. The Flame will arrive at the Pont portal with the participation of Amisol and the Pubillatge Solsoní. The Trabucaires will fire a salute, followed by the offering of fire to the Virgin of the Cloister.

Accompanied by the Patinfanjàs Orchestra, the procession will travel through the streets and squares of the old town to the Castell gate, where the brazier will be lit and the Manifesto of the Flame of Canigó will be read.

After singing "Els Segadors," with the participation of the Orfeó Nova Solsona choir, the Flame will arrive at Camp del Serra to light the bonfire. The most traditional part of the festivities will conclude with coca (a type of flatbread) and chocolate for all attendees.

The party continues at 11 pm with a DJ set by Joventut, celebrating Trabucassu's fourth anniversary. At midnight, The Velcros will take the stage, providing the musical backdrop to a night designed for dancing and welcoming summer.
