International Museum Day in Subirats

Subirats joins the celebration of International Museum Day with a weekend full of cultural activities that invite visitors to discover the municipality's historical and cultural heritage from an engaging and participatory perspective. The program offers a unique opportunity to delve into local history and explore remarkable sites through guided tours and open house events.

Over the weekend, two of the municipality's key facilities will take center stage. Firstly, the Esperanto Documentation Center will host activities focused on promoting the language and its cultural heritage. A guided tour with members of the Catalan Esperanto Association will offer insights into its history and presence in the region, and an open house with self-guided visits will also be held to explore this specialized space.

On the other hand, the Interpretation Center of the Last Defense of Barcelona offers an immersive experience in the historical memory linked to the Civil War in the Penedès region. Visitors can participate in a guided tour of the mountain trenches, accompanied by members of the Subirats Studies Center, who provide context for the historical events. Furthermore, the center is open to the public for free visits, allowing visitors to delve deeper into this key episode of recent history.

All activities are free, making culture accessible to everyone, although places are limited and prior registration is required. The initiative combines outreach, heritage, and local knowledge, reinforcing Subirats' commitment to culture and the preservation of its history.
