Holy Week in Sant Vicenç dels Horts
Holy Week in Sant Vicenç dels Horts will be celebrated from March 27th to April 5th and will include various religious and cultural events that are part of a tradition with over 400 years of history in the town. This celebration is organized by the Sant Crist Brotherhood of Costaleros, with the collaboration of the Parish of Saint Vincent Martyr, the Town Hall, and various local businesses and organizations.
The program will begin on Friday, March 27, with the parade of the Armats and Vestales of the Sant Crist Costaleros Corps, which will travel through several streets of the town. Afterwards, there will be an exhibition and official presentation of Holy Week. The following day, Saturday, March 28, will feature the blessing of the palms and the afternoon celebration of Palm Sunday.
On Sunday, March 29, Mass and the blessing of the palms will take place at the Church of Saint Vincent Martyr. Later, on Tuesday, March 31, there will be another parade of the Armats and Vestals through the main streets of the town, followed by the Auto Sacramental, a theatrical representation of the Passion with limited seating.
On Holy Thursday (April 2nd), the Mass of the Lord's Supper and the Holy Hour will be celebrated. The following day, Good Friday (April 3rd), several important events will take place, including the Stations of the Cross, the commemoration of the Passion of the Lord, various performances of the Mystery Play, a band concert, and finally the Penitential Procession, which will travel through several streets of the town.
The celebration will continue on Holy Saturday (April 4) with the Easter Vigil, and will end on Easter Sunday (April 5) with two liturgical celebrations at the Church of St. Vincent Martyr.
