Feast of the Rosary of Saint John Samora in Saint Lawrence of Hortons
The Roser Festival will once again fill the chapel of San Juan Samora with history, tradition, and popular culture, celebrating one of the most deeply rooted and emblematic festivals in San Lorenzo de Hortons. Documented since 1864, the festival continues to keep the village spirit alive thanks to the involvement of the local residents and their commitment to preserving a cultural and religious heritage passed down through generations.
The day will retain the most traditional events that have defined the festival over the years. The celebration will begin with a solemn mass in the chapel and the singing of the Gozos de la Virgen del Rosario (Hymns of the Virgin of the Rosary ), performed by the Rosanes de Martorell neighborhood choir, keeping alive one of the most representative expressions of Catalan popular culture. Following this, the blessing and auction of the traditional garlands, one of the most characteristic symbols of the festival, will take place.
These garlands, made with a traditional recipe linked to the region, are part of the collective memory of San Juan Samora and remain one of the most anticipated elements of the celebration. The festival will also include performances of folk culture, presented by the Esbart Rocasagna de Gelida , and opportunities for attendees to socialize.
Over the years, the Fiesta del Rosario has evolved, but it has always maintained its essential elements and its sentimental value for the municipality.
The Sant Llorenç de Hortons Town Council continues to support this festival with the aim of preserving it and passing it on to future generations. The Roser Festival is thus becoming a key event on the local calendar and a living expression of the history and identity of Sant Joan Samora.
Don't miss it!
