Terrazel Festival in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons

Next Saturday, July 25th, the 27th Terrazel de Gigantes will be held, the annual meeting of giants of Sant Llorenç de Hortons which has already established itself as one of the most outstanding events of the local cultural calendar.

In 1999, the first gathering was organized in Sant Llorenç d'Hortons, with giants from all over Catalonia coming together in an event filled with camaraderie and emotion. The giants of Sant Joan Samora and La Beguda Alta, villages within the same municipality, solemnly sponsored the Sun King and Mother Earth, emblematic figures that embody the cosmic and eternal force of nature through a beautiful allegory: the fruitful love between the Sun and the Earth. In 2013, the giant group organized the 15th Penedès-Garraf Regional Giant Gathering, and a twinning ceremony was held with the Ribes de Freser Giant Group.

This year, in the 27th edition, the giant groups from Sarrià (Barcelona), Vacarisses, Vallbona d'Anoia, Barrio de Gracia (Sabadell), Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Ribes de Freser and the hosts, the Sun King and Mother Earth from Terrazel de Sant Llorenç, dances and music.

Programming

• At 6:00 PM / Calle Mayor (near La Sala). Arrival of the groups and setting up of the giants.
• At 6:30 p.m. / The SCH Room. Exhibition "Els Elements de la Festa del Terrazel" (Merchandise will be on sale from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).
• At 7:00 p.m. / Through the streets of the town. Parade. Route: c/ Mayor, c/ Mestre Cugat, c/ Canals, c/ Generalitat, c/ del Raval, c/ Valls, c/ Mayor and pl. Mosén Comerma.
• At 8:30 p.m. / Mossèn Comerma Square. Show dances and presentation of commemorative souvenirs.
• At 9:00 PM / Paseo Marimon Llança. Brotherhood dinner with the invited groups.
