Sant Jordi in Sant Vicenç dels Horts
Sant Vicenç dels Horts celebrates Sant Jordi with an extensive programme, combining literature, music, performing arts and participatory activities for all ages.
The events begin with children's stories, reading clubs, and exhibitions, with a continuous program at the Les Voltes Municipal Library, which becomes one of the main cultural hubs. There is also space for book presentations, literary readings, and activities related to contemporary poetry and narrative.
During the days leading up to Sant Jordi, the municipality hosts concerts, family shows and cultural events such as the XS Festival, which focuses on live music and new talent, with performances by prominent names such as Judit Neddermann and other artists from the current scene.
April 23rd, Sant Jordi's Day, features a large number of activities, including book and rose stalls in the streets, workshops, storytelling, school activities, and creative events for all ages. The day also includes live urban art, comic and creative writing workshops, meetings with local authors, parades, and street theater performances, transforming the town into a vibrant and participatory space.
The following days continue with storytelling, literary gatherings, and concerts, as well as exhibitions and workshops that extend the spirit of Sant Jordi beyond the day itself. The program culminates with outstanding cultural events such as the Culture Gala and exhibitions related to photography and the audiovisual world.
Sant Vicenç dels Horts offers a rich and diverse Sant Jordi celebration, which highlights reading, culture and citizen participation, turning the festival into a collective experience that lasts for more than a month.
