Remei Festival of Perafita

The Perafita Remedy Festival is celebrated on the Sunday following October 10th, coinciding with the feast day of Our Lady of Remedy. This festival is a deeply rooted tradition in the town, bringing together residents and visitors in a festive and community atmosphere.

Participants gather at the chapel, an iconic location known for its beauty and tranquility. One of the most anticipated moments of the day is the communal breakfast, prepared by the parish council members. This activity not only fosters social interaction but also allows participants to enjoy the local cuisine.

Breakfast is a participatory experience where everyone can toast their own slice of bread or dip it in tomato sauce. It can also be accompanied by a delicious piece of butifarra (sausage) or bacon, typical ingredients of Catalan cuisine. After breakfast, a mass is held in honor of the Virgin of Remedy, which takes place outside, on a stone table next to the shrine. This religious ceremony is a moment of reflection and devotion that unites those who attend in a feeling of gratitude.

At the end of the Mass, a gift will be raffled among the participants, adding a touch of surprise and excitement to the day.
