Autumn colors in the Grevolosa beech forest - Trekultura
Organized by: Trekultura
Walk around the Sant Nazari hermitage and the Serra dels Llancers!
We invite you to explore one of the wettest and best-preserved corners of Osona, the Grevolosa forest. The route takes us into the shadows of this woodland, hidden in the hollows of the Serra dels Llancers, in the Transversal Range.
This area, included in the Inventory of Singular Forests of Catalonia, stands out as a mosaic of shady slopes where centuries-old trees, recognized as monumental, grow alongside oaks, hollies, and other deciduous species. The cool, humid microclimate of this valley helps the oldest specimens grow upwards, reaching for the light, until they form a veritable "cathedral" of vegetation.
The path will also lead us to the small hermitage of Sant Nazari, documented since the 14th century. This space, surrounded by trees and tranquility, has been a traditional meeting point and refuge for people passing through the mountain paths between Osona and La Garrotxa.
Local lore keeps alive stories and legends of water nymphs and forest spirits linked to these lands. It's a perfect outing to enjoy the silence of nature and the vibrant colors of autumn.
We're waiting for you!
