Barcelona Coffee Awards 2024

This initiative aims to promote the culture of specialty coffee through inspiring talks, coffee tastings, documentary screenings and practical workshops, creating a platform to celebrate and spread the passion for good coffee.

On October 18, 19 and 20, Nau Bostik will become the epicentre of specialty coffee with the third edition of the Barcelona Coffee Awards. This event will bring together specialty coffee lovers and professionals for a unique and educational experience, and this year it promises to exceed all expectations: in addition to free coffee, visitors will be able to discover a new urban space and a village where they will find tattoo services, barbering, manicure, massages and other experiences...

At the 2023 edition, more than 30,000 coffees were served and more than 5,000 attendees enjoyed the various activities. This year, an attendance of up to 10,000 visitors is expected, who will be able to taste some of the best coffees in the world, discover more than 80 brands and learn about coffee culture through presentations, round tables on the role of design in specialty coffee with Josep Basora, Julia Esqué and Verónica Fuerte, talks and virtual reality experiences.

Activities for children and family space This year, the Barcelona Coffee Awards is opening its doors to the whole family with special activities for the little ones. There will be small coffee machines for children to play with and a dedicated space where parents can leave their children while they enjoy the festival. More details to come!

Commitment to sustainability: A 100% vegan offering In its commitment to sustainability, the festival will become the first and only one in Spain to not offer cow's milk, with the exception of the SCA Latte Art competitions, where it will not be served to the public. This approach reinforces its commitment to a more sustainable future, offering exclusively vegan drinks and food options.

During the festival, official competitions of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) will also be held. After six years without being held in Spain, two of these prestigious competitions will resume at our event: Cup Tasters and Latte Art.

In addition, independently of the SCA competitions, the Barcelona Coffee Awards will organize two of its own championships: the barista championship and the roasting championship.

Award dynamics: The awards will be held over the three days of the festival, after voting. There will be two voting methods: popular vote (online) and evaluation by a specialized jury that will visit the nominated venues.

Some of the brands that will be present include: Oatly, San Remo, Dalla Corte, Eversys, Slayer, La Marzocco, Rocket, Compaq and BWT, among others.

A space for gastronomy and urban leisure In addition to coffee, attendees will be able to enjoy a varied gastronomic offer in the food trucks of Fish & Chips, Antonia's Burgers, Morgan's Mexican Food, Forno Bomba, Duval and Candela Canela.
