Santpedor Carnival
Santpedor is getting ready for a Carnival full of festivities, music and lots of participation!
On February 13, 14 and 15, Santpedor will be transformed into a grand stage of colors, costumes and revelry with an intense and participatory Carnival, designed for all ages and with activities that will fill the streets and squares of the municipality.
One of the main attractions will be the Costume Contest, open to individual/couple categories, troupes and floats, with important prizes including cash, local product packages and even a menu for two people at a restaurant in Santpedor.
The festivities will kick off on Friday, February 13th, with a lively evening featuring a communal dinner, a traditional Basque dance, the classic Ruta del Bakalau (a Basque dance route) with the brass band Vaciando la Bota, and DJ music to keep the party going. That same day will also see the 11th annual Escudella Stew Competition, complete with vermouth, judging, prizes, and bingo, making for a truly memorable day.
The most anticipated moment will arrive on Saturday, February 14th: the grand Carnival parade. It will begin with a gathering of costumed revelers and culminate with the appearance of King Carnival Leru Leru, accompanied by music and plenty of rhythm. After the parade, the party will continue with a food truck dinner and music from a DJ, in an open-air event with free admission.
On Sunday, February 15th, Carnival will be celebrated in a family-friendly way with the Children's Carnival, a show with Jaume Barri, a children's parade to Cal Llovet, an awards ceremony for the best costumes, and a final dance with the cover band La Follia to properly end the weekend.
Three days to dress up, take to the streets, and experience Carnival to the fullest. Santpedor is ready… Are you?
