Embarrats 2026: Will we have a royal visit?
From October 16th to 18th, Sant Joan de Vilatorrada travels back in time over a century with Embarrats, a festival that revives the memory of the town's textile past and the daily life of a community that grew up around the Cardener factories. Streets and former factory spaces will be filled with theatrical performances, shows, music, parades, crafts, activities for all ages, and culinary offerings that will invite visitors to relive the atmosphere of the early 20th century.
The 2026 edition will be centered around the devastating flood of 1907 and King Alfonso XIII's visit to the affected areas. Years later, news will spark euphoria among the residents of Sant Joan at the possibility of the monarch visiting their town. Gossip, factory conversations, and preparations will fuel a burning question: will we have a royal visit? Theatrical tours of the factories on Friday and Saturday will immerse us in this story, which will reach its anticipated conclusion on Sunday.
