Mapping Hidden Order at Casa Batlló by United Visual Artists
The façade of Casa Batlló is once again transformed into a grand open-air stage with Hidden Order, a striking audiovisual work by artist Matt Clark, founder of the United Visual Artists collective. This is the fifth edition of the projection mapping show promoted by the iconic building and is part of the Gaudí Year 2026, solidifying this event as one of the city's most anticipated cultural highlights.
Designed specifically for this iconic modernist building, Hidden Order is a performance piece that integrates architecture, light, sound, and movement. Through various cycles—creation, emergence, chaos, and transformation—the piece explores the tension between order and disorder, a central theme in Clark's work. The result is an immersive and contemplative experience that invites the viewer to observe Gaudí's façade with a fresh and more reflective perspective.
The installation features the collaboration of international choreographer Fukiko Takase, whose movements were recorded using motion capture technology and transformed into dynamic visual structures that directly interact with the building's organic forms. The original soundtrack, composed by Daniel J. Thibaut, accompanies the experience with geometric rhythms and patterns inspired by nature, reinforcing the hypnotic nature of the piece.
The projection mapping will be visible on January 31st and February 1st, from 7:45 pm to 10:45 pm, with shows every 30 minutes. Admission is free, making Hidden Order a true gift to the city: a unique opportunity to encounter contemporary art, rediscover its heritage, and enjoy a magical evening on Passeig de Gràcia. An open invitation to be amazed.
