La Pedrera Art Season - Visit La Pedrera and the Anselm Kiefer exhibition
Organized by: La Pedrera
Immerse yourself in Gaudí's creative universe and enrich your visit with a top-tier temporary exhibition. Two unique artistic visions converge in a single space brimming with history, beauty, and emotion.
This visit is perfect for art and architecture lovers. It includes general admission to La Pedrera – Casa Milà, Antoni Gaudí's iconic building, and access to the major temporary exhibition "Anselm Kiefer," dedicated to one of the most influential artists in contemporary art.
Twice a year, as an exceptional event, the main floor of the former owners of La Pedrera, the Milà family, opens its doors to all visitors as an exhibition space for the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera. The original ceilings, windows, and spaciousness reflect the importance this residence held in its time.
This is the first major solo exhibition in Barcelona dedicated to the work of Anselm Kiefer (Donaueschingen, 1945), offering a thoughtful and meaningful exploration of his conceptual universe. The exhibition brings together some forty pieces, primarily from the prestigious private collection of Hans Grothe —one of the most important collections dedicated to the artist— and from various other private collections. Through painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and artist's books, this collection allows visitors to delve into the symbolic and material richness of his work and discover a profound reflection on memory, matter, and knowledge.
With this ticket, you can explore all the areas open to the public at La Pedrera and enjoy one of Barcelona's most spectacular and iconic rooftops. The tour also includes the main floor, the former residence of the Milà family, where the temporary exhibition is on display from October 2, 2026, to January 24, 2027. To complete the experience, the exhibition offers a musical itinerary and other downloadable resources via a QR code —headphones are recommended—as well as services and resources for sensory and cognitive accessibility.
During your visit, you can also admire the murals that decorate the interior courtyards and the main staircase of the building, with colors and forms inspired by nature. These are authentic works of art that establish a dialogue with the material language and spirit of Anselm Kiefer's vision.
Experience firsthand the encounter between the art of Anselm Kiefer and the architecture of Gaudí in a unique space.
