Program
Thursday, April 16
The INDOMITUS Festival will begin with "The Sahel: A Cartography of Its Crises." In this presentation, documentary filmmaker Pablo Tosco, from Sonda Internacional, will discuss living conditions in the Sahel, the means of subsistence, and the resilience of its population.
The opening session will continue with Peter Mather's film, Kings of the North, which tells the story of a man and his best friend's quest for one of the most fascinating stories in northern Canada: the polar bones.
The day will close with the screening of The Asgard Project, by Alistair Lee, an ambitious challenge that documents the first free ascent of the North Tower of Mount Asgard, on Baffin Island, in the Canadian Arctic.
Friday, April 17
Friday will begin with a screening of Of on Lifetime, by Jerome Tanon, a stunning visual narrative with spectacular images of Antarctica that follows a family of snowboarders.
Next, Tato Rosés and Quino Melchor will present Sierras de Huesca, a mountain bike tour through some of Spain's landscapes that have been forgotten since the mid-20th century.
The day will conclude with My Sweden, by Zoltán Török. This moving documentary explores the evolution of the Swedish natural environment over time, in an odyssey filled with extraordinary encounters with wildlife.
Saturday, April 18
The day will begin with the presentation "El cant del bosc" (The Song of the Forest), by photographer Edgar Madrenys. The capercaillie, a relict species from the last Ice Age, is a unique animal that still inhabits our forests.
Next , Natura Fugit, by the artist Jesús Mari Lazkano, will be projected, a work that shows the transformation of the landscape over time, shaped by human behavior.
The INDOMITUS Festival will close this edition with the film Wild Alaska, Between Nature and Oil, by Marta Bretó and Tato Rosés. Filmed in the western Arctic of Alaska, the documentary portrays the extraordinary biodiversity of the Utukok River, currently under constant threat from human exploitation.
