4 routes along the Llobregat river

Very easy routes, to do with the family, walking or by bike, ideal for discovering the landscape and also the history of the people who inhabited it. From Cal Rosal to Balsareny, passing through the textile colonies. From Balsareny to Manresa, following the medieval channel that carried the water from the Llobregat river to the capital of Bages. A river that is not only water, it is also heritage, industry, engineering, life... Choose the route that you like the most and go for a walk.
Route's villages
1. Route of the textile colonies, from Cal Rosal in Puig-reig
Signposted as PR C-144, this route of almost 4 hours and completely flat, crosses the river passing through the industrial colonies of Cal Rosal, Ametlla de Casserres and Viladomiu Nou. The route is very pleasant and passes through forests, crops and lush riverside vegetation.
2. Route of the textile colonies, from Puig-reig in Balsareny
Following the route of the industrial colonies, this stage between Puig-reig and Balsareny is also very easy and suitable for the whole family. An excursion lasting less than 4 hours that has Balsareny as its arrival point and where you cannot miss its magnificent castle.
3. Route of the Acequia de Manresa
Between Balsareny and Manresa for more than 6 centuries a channel has carried the water from the Llobregat river to the capital of Bages. A magnificent work of engineering that if you walk through it you will discover places of great heritage and landscape interest such as the Aguja Park and the Can Font Water Center where they will explain the path of water.
4. From Sant Fruitós de Bages in Sant Vicenç de Castellet
Walking the river Llobregat is a history class! Along this route of 5 and a half hours but completely flat, you will travel back in time to the Middle Ages with a visit to the Monastery of Sant Benet de Bages and the Vilomara bridge, in the Gothic style.
