taSHORTfest - Barcelona International Comedy Short Film Festival
The taSHORTfest returns to La Teixonera (Barcelona) with short films, humor and open-air cinema!
Barcelona is preparing to experience a new edition of taSHORTfest, the Barcelona-La Taxonera International Comedy Short Film Festival, an event dedicated entirely to short films and humor.
The festival remains committed to bringing audiovisual culture to the neighborhood and transforming the La Teixonera Civic Center into a meeting place open to everyone. With free admission to all activities, the program invites the public to discover comedy short films, participate in special screenings, and enjoy cinema in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
This year's festival will be themed around "Little Shop of Horrors," the classic musical by Frank Oz, coinciding with its 40th anniversary. Exhibitions, activities, talks, and a special outdoor screening will all revolve around this theme.
The program will include family-friendly shows, out-of-competition short film screenings, finalist screenings, live podcasts, and a late-night session designed for adult audiences with more irreverent and alternative offerings. There will also be discussion panels to reflect on the limits of humor and the role of comedy in contemporary cinema.
The public will play a prominent role in the festival, as they will be able to vote for their favorite short films and participate in choosing the Audience Award. The closing gala will serve as the awards ceremony, where the most prestigious prize is the popular "Vaca con Botes" (Cow with Buckets), a handcrafted and iconic symbol of the event.
A fun, participatory and unique cultural proposal that champions the short comedy film as a tool for creativity, cohesion and shared joy.
