Pyrenees Stage Run
The Pyrenees Stage Run (PSR) is a trail running stage race that crosses the Pyrenees in 8 stages, from 29 August to 5 September 2026. In its 10th edition, the route runs from Ribes de Freser to Salardú —with two stages in Andorra, including a vertical stage in Encamp—, following mainly the GR11 over 230 km with 16,000 m of positive elevation gain. The race passes through five natural parks: Capçaleres del Ter i del Freser, Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror, Valls del Comapedrosa, Alt Pirineu, and Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici.
Participants compete in teams of 2 or 3 runners and must be at least 18 years old. A medical certificate confirming fitness for mountain ultra-endurance events is required, issued between 29 August 2025 and 31 July 2026. The route follows the GR11, with ribbon markings and GPS tracking. Each stage covers approximately 30 km with around 2,000 m of positive elevation gain, with time limits that allow participants to walk the climbs.
There are two registration options:
-
Basic (€950/runner): includes dinner and race services. It is intended for runners with a motorhome, camper van, or their own logistical support.
-
Full Experience (€1,560/runner until 31 January; €1,650 from 1 February): includes hotel accommodation with breakfast from 28 August to 6 September (9 nights), as well as dinner.
Services include high-quality photography, a recovery massage at the end of each stage, live tracking, luggage transfer between stages, GPS tracks, medical assistance, and accident insurance. Every evening, participants have dinner together while the day's awards are presented and an audiovisual summary of the stage is screened.
For the return journey from Salardú, the organisers provide a coach service to Barcelona (airport and city) or Ribes de Freser.
Eight days of mountains, camaraderie and the Pyrenees in a journey that goes far beyond running.
