Pyrenean Iron Fair in Alins

The Iron Fair is back again this year in Alins (Vall Ferrera)!

Alins is preparing to experience a new edition of the Pyrenean Iron Fair, an event that comes with the motto "Igniting memory, forging the future" and that will once again highlight the heritage, tradition and trades linked to the territory.

The fair will celebrate its new edition with a special focus on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage, and especially on the Falles de Alins, a living, deep tradition closely linked to the identity of the Pyrenees.

This year, the celebration takes on a special meaning, as it commemorates the 10th anniversary of the recognition of the Falles del Pirineo as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, a distinction that highlights the importance of preserving, transmitting and sharing these cultural manifestations that have been passed down from generation to generation.

The Pyrenean Iron Fair aims to pay homage to these roots, but also to all those expressions that form part of the country's popular culture and living heritage, such as the Patum festival, castles, dry stone walling, the manual ringing of bells, and the raftsmen. These traditions explain who we are, where we come from, and how the community keeps its collective memory alive.

Through the fair, Alins celebrates the value of iron, fire, crafts, and intangible culture as elements that connect past, present, and future. It's an opportunity to discover, learn, be inspired, and share Pyrenean heritage in a unique setting.
