Long itinerary of the Tomb Lauredià in Sant Julià de Lòria

Long itinerary of the Tomb Lauredià in Sant Julià de Lòria

Fantastic circular itinerary in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, where we can discover the most unknown places in the southern valley. The alternation of open areas with spectacular views of the parish and imposing forest areas makes it very interesting from a landscape point of view.

  • Difficulty: remarkable.
  • Elevation difference: 1,400 m.
  • Time: One full day.
  • Kilometers: 15 km.

As in the other variants of the Tomb Lauredià (short and medium), the long itinerary has its departure and arrival point in the Plaza de la Hermandad (42° 27' 54.7128", 1° 29' 27.96"), in the same center of San Julia de Loria. The 15 km route will take you to the towns of Aubinyà and Aixirivall.

The route begins by overcoming a notable difference in level to Aubinyà, where the church of Sant Romà is located. Following the path of La Solana we come to the hermitage of San Serni de Nagol, one of the most outstanding examples of Andorran Romanesque. From this point you can enjoy spectacular views of the valley, with Sant Julià de Lòria in the background. Heading towards Aixovall, the path to Sant Martí allows us to see this small chapel, literally attached to the mountain, on a cliff. From the bottom of the valley, along the Rocafort path, we follow La Solana until we find the Fontaneda path, which leads back to Sant Julià de Lòria.

Ermita de Sant Serni de Nagol

The long Tomb Lauredià runs along various types of paths, always marked with the distinctive “ Tomb Lauredià llarg ”. It is a route of notable difficulty due to the significant unevenness that must be overcome (+/- 1,400 m) and its duration (a full day), with some equipped and/or partially aerial sections. It is suitable for people used to long mountain hikes.

For your safety, we recommend that you do all the itineraries above 1,700 meters from the end of June to the end of September. However, weather and ground conditions permitting, the season could extend from May to October.
