Midsummer's Eve in Santpedor

Santpedor will once again celebrate the traditional lighting of the brazier with the Flame of Canigó on Saint John's Eve, organized by the 2x2 hiking club!

The activities of this celebration combine traditional elements, such as the welcoming of the Flame of Canigó in Castellnou de Bages, with musical performances that will guarantee magic and revelry on the shortest night of the year. This festival is one of the most anticipated in Catalonia, where the flame symbolizes the unity and identity of the Catalan people.

The Santpedor Town Council invites everyone to participate in this very special celebration, carrying the Flame of Canigou on foot from Castellnou de Bages. There, young and old alike will enthusiastically receive it and light the lamp with the fire that comes from the Pyrenean peak of Canigou, located in Northern Catalonia. This tradition is not only a symbolic act, but also fosters social cohesion and community participation.
