Major Festival of Sant Llorenç d'Hortons

Sant Llorenç d'Hortons is preparing for a Major Festival full of tradition, new features and lots of participation!

Summer reaches its peak with the Sant Llorenç d'Hortons Festival, which this year will be celebrated from August 8 to 12 with a program designed for all audiences and which combines the most deeply rooted traditions of the municipality with new proposals that will delight locals and visitors.

This year's edition incorporates several exciting new features. The celebration will kick off on Saturday, August 8th, with a children's show at the Pista, organized by the Hortonenca Cultural Society, marking the start of five intense days of festivities. In the afternoon, the traditional parade will wind its way through the town's streets, and after a performance by the Vailets de Gelida, one of the most anticipated moments will arrive: the opening proclamation of the Fiesta Mayor, which this year will be delivered by La Marrinxa, an organization closely linked to the town's festive life. The day will continue with the Tractofest Correbars, a street race through various parts of town, a concert by the Quatrevents group, and a DJ set by Muso in the Plaza del Referéndum U de Octubre.

Sunday, August 9th, will be dedicated to family activities and music. In the morning, the municipal swimming pool will host inflatable water attractions, while in the afternoon, Marimon Llança Square will be the setting for a fun musical bingo game organized by Marrinxa. The day will conclude with a community snack and traditional habanera music performed by the group Son de La Habana at the dance floor.

Monday, August 10th, the feast day of Sant Llorenç, will be the main day of the Festa Major (town festival). The festivities will begin with a solemn mass at the Sant Llorenç Parish Church, followed by the offerings of the Goblins and Giants and the traditional Interludes, and then a popular vermouth gathering in Plaça Marimon Llança. In the afternoon, participants can test their wits with the "El Cas Fènix" street escape room. As night falls, the most emblematic moment of the Festa Major will arrive with the Terrazel events: the Nighttime Interludes, the Street of Fire, the grand and eagerly awaited Terrazel Show, and the Correfoc (fire run), which will transform the town's streets into a spectacle of light, fire, and tradition. The party will continue well into the early hours with the La Nit del Canet concert and a DJ set by Xabo in Plaça del Referéndum U de Octubre (October Referendum Square).

Tuesday, August 11th, will begin with the traditional Matinee Ringing. At 11:00 AM, Marimon Llança Square will be transformed into a fun-filled space for children, featuring a bubble workshop and a motor skills circuit for children aged one and up. In the afternoon, those who enjoy traditional Catalan folk culture can enjoy sardana dances organized by the Petúnias i Gladiols Sardana Group, accompanied by the Cobla Reus Jove band. Simultaneously, the MAM del BO restaurant will offer a wine tasting (registration required). The day will culminate with the popular White Night on the dance floor, featuring music by the band LaFresca and a DJ set.

The Fiesta Mayor will conclude on Wednesday, August 12th, with an afternoon and evening packed with activities. At 7:00 PM, the dance floor will host a cocktail workshop, followed by Korretofest 26' at 9:30 PM. The grand finale will be a concert and dance with the renowned Orquesta Cobla Rosaleda, who will keep the crowd dancing until the end of another edition of the festival.
