Experience Sant Jordi in Collbató!
The Sant Jordi program in Collbató offers a wide range of cultural activities throughout the month of April, with proposals designed for all ages and with literature as the common thread.
The program begins with family activities such as story time for the youngest children, with sessions adapted for toddlers and babies, fostering a love of reading from an early age. Also noteworthy is the "Lletres en viu" (Living Letters) event, where primary school students can interact with authors and discover the literary creative process.
In the days leading up to Sant Jordi, the program includes literary performances, recreational activities such as a themed escape room, and theatrical productions at the local theater. The series of events combines entertainment and culture, bringing literature to life through diverse and engaging formats.
The heart of the celebration comes on Sant Jordi's Day, with a book and rose fair that fills the town with stalls run by local organizations, associations, and businesses. The day is complemented by creative workshops, such as making bookmarks, roses, and badges, and artistic activities for children and families. There are also opportunities for reflection, such as roundtables with local writers, and theatrical performances like radio drama.
The program is completed with activities such as a special story time, STEAM workshops, activities in nursing homes and the awarding of prizes for literary competitions, reinforcing the community and intergenerational character of the festival.
In addition, throughout the month you can visit a literary exhibition of micro-stories, which highlights local creativity and keeps the spirit of Sant Jordi alive beyond just one day.
Collbató transforms Sant Jordi into a rich, participatory cultural celebration open to everyone, where literature, art and community come together!
