The Passion of Vila-sacra

The Passion of Vila-sacra was born in 2013, it began with young people from the confirmation catechism and from the first moment it was performed together with choral singing by the "Veus Blanques de Vila-sacra" choir.

It started from the gospel according to St. Luke and has always been represented in our bare stone Romanesque church. The characteristic feature of the Vila-sacra Passion is the combination of theatrical performance with choral singing. When the choral singing flows, the actors remain motionless, a fact that enhances the scene.

If we also add light effects, sounds and projection of images on the stone of the 12th century Romanesque church, all of this transports us to that important moment for humanity.

The setting is all around the altar, of the Romanesque church of St. Esteve, all the scenes happen one after another without a curtain. From the storm in the middle of the lake to the Calvary and resurrection, everything is represented in 70 minutes.
