Portal Attack Berga

The Portal Attack transforms Berga's old town into an urban circuit where every second counts. It's not a conventional time trial; it's an elimination-style race where up to 150 riders compete on asphalt and cobblestones, surrounded by spectators, with the iconic Portal as one of the defining features of the course.

The race's unique character begins with the bicycles. Here, classic machines come into play, with frame-mounted gears, external brake cables, and components subject to strict inspection according to the race regulations. Mechanical expertise is an integral part of the experience; leg strength alone isn't enough, you also need to know how to handle a bicycle designed in another era.

The course offers no respite either. Short, explosive climbs, tight corners, changes of pace, and narrow sections demand constant concentration until the very end. Any mistake could mean elimination, especially as the rounds progress and only the fastest riders remain.

Nightlife is another defining feature of the Portal Attack. The streetlights, the old streets, and the crowds gathered along the route transform Berga into a kind of cycling amphitheater where the noise accompanies every sprint.
