Day "No Jubilem la Memòria" in La Figuera

La Figuera will host the "No Jubilem la Memòria" event, dedicated to the recovery and dissemination of historical memory through conferences, visits and activities linked to the episodes of the Civil War and local heritage.

The program will begin on Saturday at 11:00 AM with the lecture and presentation "Blood Transfusions in War: Before and After," given by surgeon and expert in war medicine, Jordi Jarà Llusà. The event will take place in Terpe and will offer an in-depth look at the evolution of medical care during armed conflicts.

At 12:30 pm there will be a visit to the La Figuera observatory, with the participation of the Ejército del Ebro historical reenactment group. The day will continue at 2:00 pm with a community lunch of paella; prior registration at the La Figuera Town Hall is required.

In the afternoon, at 4 p.m., the Town Hall will host the talk "The Brigades Among Us," organized by No Jubilem la Memòria (Let's Not Forget Memory). Later, at 5:30 p.m., historian and archaeologist Maria Garcia Barberà will lead a guided tour of the village of La Figuera, an opportunity to discover spaces, testimonies, and elements of the municipality related to its past.

The day will continue on Sunday, October 18, at 12 noon, with the presentation of the book "Sota la pell", un arbre, by Pere Pena, by the Centre Quim Soler.

Two days to approach history from the territory, to discover spaces linked to memory and to delve into the testimonies and stories that help to understand the past of La Figuera and the country as a whole.
