Chestnut festival in Santa Susanna

Santa Susanna celebrates its annual Castañada festival with a day designed for families to enjoy autumn and share some of the most deeply rooted traditions of this time of year. The festivities will take place on the Rambla dels Països Catalans and at the Civic Center, with activities running from morning until night.

The program will begin with family activities, workshops, and games, followed by a family disco with music for dancing and having fun together. At midday, it will be time for a popular vermouth gathering, followed by a sausage barbecue made with local, regional products.

Gastronomy will continue to take center stage with a tasting of mistela and carquiñoles, a traditional combination to enjoy after lunch. During the afternoon, Catalan music will liven up the atmosphere and set the stage for the day's more traditional events.

The celebration will be completed with a sardana dance performance and, during the break, one of the most anticipated moments will arrive: the traditional chestnut roast, with chestnuts to share and the atmosphere typical of an autumn afternoon.
