Els Quatre Tombs del Torrentfondo - Sant Llorenç d'Hortons

Next Sunday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Torrentfondo area (Sant Llorenç d'Hortons) will once again be the setting of the traditional Els Quatre Tombs festival.

This year, in addition, the 25th anniversary of this tradition will be commemorated, which was born in 2001 in the middle of the municipality of Sant Llorenç d'Hortons by Mr. Antonio Malet and the "Colla dels Vells Records".

As is customary, the day will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the arrival of the carriages and a communal breakfast. Following this, visitors can enjoy the exhibition of carts and carriages, some of which are authentic pieces of rural history and heritage. At 12:00 p.m., the Els Quatre Tombs parade will begin with the traditional procession of horses and carriages through the streets of the village, and the blessing of the animals will take place, officiated by Father Jordi Tres.

This is a unique opportunity to see historic carriages such as the tartana, which was used to take people dressed in their finest to mass, or the stagecoach, which acted as a messenger between the town and the capital, transporting all kinds of goods.

By collaborating on the Els Quatre Tombs festival, the Sant Llorenç d'Hortons Town Council reaffirms its commitment to preserving the municipality's cultural and agricultural heritage, highlighting the origins and traditions linked to the rural world. The Els Quatre Tombs festival is, year after year, a key event on the local festive calendar and a space for community, remembrance, and education that connects past and present through respect for animals and popular culture.
