Sant Pere de Vilamajor

From the Samont hill to the Vallserena stream, Sant Pere de Vilamajor connects with the Montseny massif, offering visitors countless routes for hiking enthusiasts.

Peaks, springs, farmhouses, valleys and streams add to an interesting architectural heritage in an environment where man connects with nature through the main economic activities: agriculture and livestock, which have given rise in recent years to rural tourism projects that reunite the essence of the village.

Vilamagore Medieval

The first weekend of November we celebrate Vilamagore Medieval.

A medieval festival recreates the era when our town boasted a count's palace that was the envy of neighboring villages, a mandatory stop between Barcelona and Girona on the road to France, complete with a market to supply its basic needs. Between June 1156 and April 1157, over one hundred people of diverse social standing stayed there: ambassadors, merchants, pilgrims, Saracens, Jews, knights... and most notably, Count Ramon Berenguer IV of Barcelona and his wife, Queen Petronilla. And it is very likely that their son, Alfonso I, King of Aragon, was born there, as we know that his wet nurse, Loreto, was from our town.

Come visit us the first weekend of November and you will be transported back in time, with medieval attractions for children, street music and theater parades, an expanded area of artisan and trade stalls, tasting piment wine (medieval Catalan wine) and, above all, because of our secret, our strength, the more than three hundred volunteers who will make this impossible journey through time possible.

Places of interest

Vilamajor Rectory Park

This park is an ideal green space for walks and outdoor activities. It allows you to enjoy nature and the tranquility of the surroundings, making it a perfect place to relax. It also has shaded areas and benches for resting.

Vilamajor Castle (Red Tower)

Also known as the Red Tower, this castle is a medieval fortress that forms part of the municipality's historical heritage. Currently, remnants of its structure are preserved, allowing us to imagine the importance it held during the feudal era.

Church of Sant Pere de Vilamajor

A historic church whose architecture reflects the passage of centuries. It is a religious and cultural landmark of the municipality, and its bell tower is one of its most distinctive features. Inside, you can see decorative elements in the Romanesque and Gothic styles.

Hermitage of Sant Elies

Located in a privileged setting within the Montseny Natural Park, this hermitage is a popular destination for hikers. The climb to the hermitage offers spectacular panoramic views over the region, making this an ideal spot to enjoy nature.

Church of Saint Susanna

A small church of medieval origin, situated in a natural setting. It represents an example of the area's religious architectural heritage and is an interesting place to learn about local history and its evolution over the centuries.

The Cortés

It is a traditional Catalan farmhouse, notable for its rustic architecture and connection to the rural world. It forms part of the historical heritage of Sant Pere de Vilamajor and offers a glimpse into the way of life and work of past generations.

Natural Sources

The municipality boasts several springs, such as the Font Fresca del Samon and the Font de Borrell, which are ideal resting points during a hike in Montseny. These springs have traditionally provided fresh water for locals and hikers.

Pozo d'en Vesa

This historic well is part of the municipality's rural heritage. This architectural feature shows us how water was extracted and stored in the past, playing a key role in the area's agricultural economy.
