El Ripollès, is a mountain region, located in the Pyrenees of Girona, located 100 km from Barcelona and 80 km from the Costa Brava. It is made up of Vall de Ribes, Camprodon Valley and Baix Ripollès, encompassing the 19 towns that dot the territory, most of them of medieval origin.

The mountains of the Pyrenees and the two rivers that cross it from north to south, the Ter and the Freser, give name to the Natural Park of the Capçaleres del Ter and the Freser, a magnificent high mountain area in the heart of the Pyrenees of Girona with 14,725 ha. with peaks such as the Puigmal or the Bastiments, bordering the 3000 m. Tall.

Heritage

Visit the heritage of Ripollès, a territory with a great historical and cultural past, considered the "Bressol de Catalunya", with more than 98 monuments of Romanesque art of the Pyrenees distributed among the 19 towns of the region. We emphasize the Monastery of Sant Joan de las Abadesses, which houses the Holy Mystery; the cover of the S. XII of the Monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll, candidate to be declared World Heritage of UNESCO; and the Monastery of Sant Pere and the New Bridge of Camprodon. Also note the Romanesque church of Sant Jaume de Queralbs, the altar frontal of Sant Esteve de Llanars or the church of Santa Cecília de Molló, as well as the Sanctuary of Montgrony or Vallfogona de Ripollès, a small rural town and its medieval center. You have to see, in addition, Dòrria and Beget, declared Historic and Artistic Patrimony Set (BCIN).

Hiking, natural areas and mountain resorts

In the Ripollès, walk through the Natural Park of Les Capçaleres del Ter and Freser, a magnificent high mountain area where you will find the emblematic ascents of Puigmal, Fontalba, Marcos, Ulldeter, Mentet and Costabona.

Vallter 2000 is located in the glacial cirque of Morens-Ull de Ter. It is a cozy and familiar station, it becomes a magnificent viewpoint of the Costa Brava offers us excursions, ascent with chairlift in summer and alpine ski resort in winter.

An ideal place to practice sports and outdoor activities in the mountains: alpine skiing and snowboarding, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing... Its situation makes it the ideal destination for the whole family to enjoy the mountain in any time of the year.

La Vall de Núria, located at an altitude of 2,000 m, where you can only access the Vall de Núria cog railway with a singular transport , a 12.5 km route with a spectacular high mountain landscape. It starts at Ribes de Freser and, passing through Queralbs, overcomes a difference of over 1,000 m.

Walk through Itinerannia, a network of marked trails of more than 2,500 km between the counties of Ripollès, Garrotxa and Alt Empordà, which recovers the old historic roads between the Pyrenees of Girona and the Costa Brava. Great crossings by GR11 "Sendero del Pirineo", the GR151 "El Camino Oliba" or the "Camino de Sant Jaume". In this magnificent environment, sports tourism stands out, with more than 90 races and sporting events in nature throughout the year!

As for the Music Festivals: in the Camprodon Valley, Isaac Albéniz, Ripoll International and in St. Joan de los Terreros, Festival of Comte Arnau i Clownia.
