Vallfogona de Ripollès

A valley of the Pre-Pyrenees of 38 km2 between Ripoll and Olot. An urban nucleus is formed by a medieval set and more than a hundred houses. More than half of the municipality is part of the Plan of Spaces of Natural Interest (PEIN) Sierras de Milany-Santa Magdalena, Bellmunt Puigsacalm and Natura 2000 Network.

You can breathe nature and tranquility in a natural landscape of great value with forests of beeches, pines and oaks with pastures with dozens of cows and some flocks of sheep.

You can walk for about 50 km marked for walks for all tastes and levels. You can eat homemade dishes , sleep in rural establishments and enjoy parties and activities thanks to a dynamic associative fabric.

Places of interest

• Belfry of Pòpul: It is what remains of the church of the twelfth century known as the Virgen del Pòpul. It was built by the lords of the castle.
• Castle or the Hall
• Source of the Tosca: The Tosca del Pinetar is a rock formation several tens of meters thick that has been formed from the slow and continuous deposition, over the centuries, of the calcium carbonate dissolved in the water of the source of the Tosca.
• Medieval bridge: it was built in the fourteenth century by the lords of Milany, its function was to cross the stream of Vallfogona, the road that linked the village with the castle of Milany and Vidrà.
