The Sausage Gastronomic Fair in Bescanó

Bescanó celebrates a new edition of the Sausage Gastronomic Fair!

It was founded in 1996. The Bescanó Sausage Fair is a true showcase of the food products that are made, and which often do not have a dissemination that goes beyond the immediate environment of the manufacturer.

Throughout the day, Lluís Vigué Park and various spaces in the town will be filled with stalls, tastings and activities designed for all ages.

The fair will begin at 10:00 AM with the official opening, at which point visitors can start enjoying the food stalls, especially those specializing in cured meats, one of the most representative products of the region's culinary tradition. Throughout the day, there will be a bar, food areas, and children's attractions, creating a festive and family-friendly atmosphere.

The program includes numerous parallel activities. In the morning, visitors can explore the Bescanó Emerging Contemporary Art Exhibition (MACEB), participate in a lacemaking workshop, or enjoy a painting workshop open to all ages. There will also be a display of classic cars and vintage tractors, adding a historical and appealing touch to the day.

Among the more unusual activities are the third ultra-fast sausage-making tournament and a wood carving demonstration by students from the Bescanó Republican Athenaeum workshop. Young children will also have their own space with children's entertainment, while language enthusiasts can participate in a Catalan Scrabble morning session.

At midday, the festivities will continue with a parade of giants and big-headed figures, which will wind through the streets with several giant groups. The first shepherding competition will also take place, an activity that celebrates livestock traditions.

In the afternoon, popular culture will continue with a castellers performance and a sardana audition with the copla La Principal de Banyoles, which will bring music and tradition to the final stretch of the day.

The fair will end at 7 pm, after a day full of activities, food, and culture. It's the perfect opportunity to discover Bescanó, sample quality products, and enjoy a festive and traditional atmosphere.
